Chilobrachys natanicharum, formerly known in the hobby as Chilobrachys sp. Electric Blue, is a biological marvel from the mangrove forests of Thailand. It is a world-renowned species due to its unique structural coloration. The legs and chelicerae of this female exhibit an intense, metallic neon blue that can shift towards violet depending on the lighting. This electric color stands in sharp contrast to the dark, velvety tones of its carapace and abdomen.

Temperament and Venom: As a typical Old World species, C. natanicharum is exceptionally fast and highly defensive. It lacks urticating hairs, relying entirely on its speed and potent venom for protection. A female of this size is confident and will not hesitate to take a threat posture if disturbed. Due to its speed and medically significant venom, this species is recommended strictly for advanced keepers.

Husbandry: This species thrives in humid environments. It requires high humidity (around 80%) and temperatures between 25-28°C. In captivity, the female will construct elaborate and dense silken tunnels, often integrating them with burrows dug into the soil. Provide a thick layer of moist substrate and several anchor points like cork bark or roots for its webbing. Proper ventilation is vital to maintain a healthy, mold-free environment.
